Gerald M. Welt received his Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California and has a long time respected history as a Las Vegas attorney. Attorney Welt practices Social Security Disability/SSI Disability Law and Workers' Compensation. He has served on the Nevada Justice Association Board of Governors as a board member, treasurer, president-elect, president and chief administrative officer and now as an NJA Emeritus. He was the co-chair of Citizens for Justice and a member of the President’s Council of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Additionally, he has been a moderator and instructor for the People’s Law School in the subject of Social Security Disability/SSI. In 2019 he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Nevada Justice Association. He is a member of both Clark County Bar Association and the State Bar of Nevada.
He has been active in the State Bar of Nevada as a member and chair of the Lawyers’ Referral and Information Services committee. He has served as a member of the State of Nevada Medical/Dental Screening panel. Welt was a member of the court appointed arbitration panel and has also acted as arbitrator in multiple cases. Additionally, he is a member and past Nevada state chairman of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant Representatives (NOSSCR). Welt was named as a Colleague of the Nevada Law Foundation, and he has volunteered in a variety of capacities for numerous charitable and non-profit organizations.
Attorney Welt is general legal counsel for the Las Vegas Clark County Library District. In 2023 Attorney Welt was acknowledged by the Clark County Commission and City Council of Las Vegas for his long time work with the Las Vegas Clark County Library District.
